A-League and W-League to continue behind closed doors
A-League chiefs are aiming to release a condensed สมัครสมาชิกใหม่ schedule for the rest of the season by the end of Monday, with all remaining matches to be played behind closed doors - including those involving Wellington Phoenix and Melbourne Victory, who will spend the next fortnight in self-isolation.
Football Federation Australia chief executive สมัครแทงบอลออนไลน์ง่ายๆ James Johnson and A-League head Greg O'Rourke have declared the competition will push on amid the growing coronavirus crisis, as will next weekend's W-League grand final and all state-based NPL and grassroots leagues.
But FFA has introduced additional measures บาคาร่าออนไลน์ that will encourage anyone who is not "essential" to the staging of training or games at any level to stay at home.
The Phoenix and Victory will not be able to เว็บบาคาร่าออนไลน์ play for at least two weeks, with both clubs due to arrive in Australia in the coming days after playing a match in Wellington on Sunday. They will then enter into a mandatory 14-day period of self-isolation, in line with new government advice, and will not be able to train during that time.
Once they can emerge from quarantine, both teams will be faced with a horrendous schedule that could see them playing up to three matches per week to complete their commitments in line with an expedited A-League calendar.
The Phoenix are also poised to relocate to Sydney for the rest of the season, with the A-League working through venue and hotel availability to accommodate them.
O'Rourke admitted the reaction to the plans was "mixed" amongst Wellington players, conceded they and Victory would face "more of a challenge" because of the new border requirements, and said it was "not helpful" to the integrity of the A-League.
But he stressed the measures had been agreed with both clubs and Professional Footballers Australia, the union which is part of football's COVID-19 crisis committee.
"We've got 30 matches left, six competition rounds to go," O'Rourke said. "It is our intent to compress the rest of that season and we have spoken to the clubs and we are now speaking to the venues to see whether or not it is possible to complete those six rounds in three to four weeks.
"We think at this point in time that is a better solution with the facts we have in hand rather than suspend it and work out what will happen with the health situation in months to come."
Some matches could be staged as double-headers, given fans will not be at any of the games, while alternative venues could also be used to cut costs for teams like Brisbane Roar, who pay exorbitant fees for the use of Suncorp Stadium.
FFA officials and stakeholders will continue to monitor the situation and admitted that if players become infected with the coronavirus all these plans will have to be amended.
"These are hypothetical scenarios," Johnson said. "The point is we're going to follow the medical rules that are in place by the government. If there's a player who's sick, we'll follow that, and if this does happen - and it could happen - the league is going to have to react."
Johnson said the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic on Australian soccer had not been fully considered, but he did not rule out the prospect of seeking government assistance.
"It's something, at some point, we're going to get to, but this is a second priority for our sport," Johnson said.
"Our priority, right now, is to ensure that our people are safe, and that's where ... the leagues, the FFA, the member federations, the PFA, together as a football family, that's where we're spending our time."
